About me

I teach yoga in Lisbon and online, and run retreats in the UK and Portugal.

10 years ago, I was in a challenging period of my life, experiencing trauma-related anxiety and disconnection from myself. My mum, a psychotherapist, suggested I might try yoga to help. I started doing 10-minute yoga videos on YouTube; the impact was incredible. I reconnected with my body, learnt to be mindful and came to understand my anxiety.

Yoga has taught me fundamental tools for embodiment and contentment that I use in my daily life. The journey has been a challenge and a joy. I want to guide others on their path and share what I have learnt.

Over the last 10 years I have developed my yoga practice and teaching alongside a career as a Family Lawyer in London.

As a lawyer I was assisting clients through challenging periods of their lives: acrimonious divorce and/or child arrangements proceedings. I was continually faced with the pain and dis-regulation that many felt, and a common desire for balance, regulation and healing. My priority was to find solutions with compassion, empathy and consideration for all the parties involved.

After a rewarding career in law (and teaching yoga in my spare time), I decided to move to Lisbon. The move was driven by a curiosity to live abroad and a desire to share the tools I had learnt through yoga with others.

My goal is to guide students to an embodied flow state. I use precise cuing, music, and mindfulness techniques along with specific tailored practices such as vagal toning, acupressure, pranyama (breathwork) and myofascial release to help students explore their practice. My teaching is influenced by lineages such as Ashtanga, Katonah and Hatha-Vinyasa.

I seek to promote the regulation of the nervous system — one of the best tools we have to positively influence the automatic functions in the body, such as our heart rate, our digestion, muscle recovery and physical and emotional healing. To work with the nervous system is to work with some of the core causes of many human challenges. To do so can have an incredible knock-on effect on many aspects of your life.
